Doug Little - Travel Coordination

Doug Little has coordinated events with Tomás Guilarte and Danza Contemporanea de Cuba since 2015. A noted saxophonist, flutist, and composer, Little has studied, performed, and recorded in Cuba extensively over the last twenty years. Through his activities as a creative artist he has established relationships with major Cuban performers as well as the institutions that showcase their work.

Little has coordinated trips for organizations such as the American Composers Forum, the Chicago Children's Choir, and Pilates-Underground. As an independent guide he as worked for Project Por Amor and Putney Student Travel. He has also crafted individualized itineraries for professional musicians and world-class photographers. 

As a performer Little has worked with major Latin music artists such as Tito Puente Jr, Nachito Herrera, Chuchito Valdés, and Latin Grammy nominee Tiempo Libre. He performed and served as music director for Grammy winning Cuban singer Mayito Rivera. Little’s own 10-piece salsa ensemble Charanga Tropical has toured to Cuba, played Havana concert halls and festivals, and performed on national Cuban radio. The band’s CD In Cuba (Spotify, Apple Music) was recorded in the same historic studios where the landmark Buena Vista Social Club album was created. 

Little was born in California and relocated to Minneapolis. His career credits include multiple CDs and performances in Europe, Asia and throughout the United States. A multi-linguist, Little has had artist residencies in Cuba, Brazil, and France. Little is also an active educator and is the founding director of the Twin Cities Jazz Workshop and the Latin Music Workshop
